Steamboat Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist!

 

Position Details

  • Role: Veterinary Receptionist
  • Status: Part-time
  • Salary: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour 
  • Schedule: Monday 9am - 6pm, Thursday 12pm - 5pm, Friday 9am - 5pm with opportunities for additional hours based on hospital needs

What You'll Bring as a Veterinary Receptionist

  • Critical thinking, curiosity, and a can-do attitude
  • Reliability and professionalism in a fast-paced setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Previous experience in veterinary or medical reception/customer service

  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills

  • A positive attitude and passion for teamwork

  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and abbreviations is a plus!

What You’ll Do

  • Communicate with warmth, clarity, and confidence
  • Greet clients with warmth and positivity (two-legged and four-legged alike!)

  • Answer phones, take messages, and assist clients with basic questions

  • Provide information about our services and help clients choose the best options for their pets

  • Recognize and prioritize urgent cases; alert medical staff when needed

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

  • Handle invoicing, payments, and daily deposits

  • Promote a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area

  • Stay familiar with infectious and zoonotic diseases to ensure a safe environment for all
