Position Details
- Role: Veterinary Receptionist
- Status: Full-time
- Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, some Saturdays
We are adding a veterinarian in the new year, and we are looking to expand our support staff.
We are looking for a full-time veterinary receptionist to add to our fantastic front desk team. Hours will vary but will be posted 2 weeks in advance of the new month.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Warmly greeting clients
- Admitting and discharging of patients, including conveying postsurgical
instructions - Efficiently answering a multiple-line telephone system
- Scheduling appointments for routine care and surgical procedures
- Processing payments
- Preparation and explanation of prescribed medications
- Answering a variety of client questions
- Processing mail
- Cleaning/disinfecting of work area
Requirements:
- Demonstrate compassion to pets and the owners who are attached to them
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in all aspects of office technology
- Ability to stay calm in tense or hectic times
- Able to juggle multiple tasks throughout the day
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology
