Position Details

Role: Veterinary Receptionist

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday, 9 am - 6pm; Thursday, 11 am - 7 pm; one half-day Saturday shift a month

As our Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be the friendly voice and welcoming face of our clinic. You’ll keep the day running smoothly, support our clinical team, and make every client feel heard (especially when they tell you why their kitty is the best one that has ever lived).

What Our Veterinary Receptionists Do

  • Greet clients and their cats warmly and check them in and out efficiently
  • Answer phones, return messages, and respond to client questions with care and clarity
  • Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar to keep the clinic on track
  • Process payments, estimates, and invoices accurately
  • Maintain and update medical records and client information
  • Handle prescription and food requests and coordinate them with the medical team
  • Communicate clearly with veterinarians and technicians about patient flow and client needs
  • Support clients with compassion during emotional moments, including difficult diagnoses and end-of-life care
  • Keep the front desk and reception area clean, organized, and calm for anxious feline patients

What You’ll Bring

  • Customer service, reception, or front desk experience; veterinary experience is a plus but not required
  • A genuine passion for pets, especially cats, that shows up every day
  • Strong communication and listening skills, on the phone and in person
  • Empathy and patience with clients, coworkers, and yourself
  • A positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to ask for and offer help
  • Strong organization and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • Basic computer skills; experience with veterinary practice management software is a plus
  • A commitment to respect and teamwork, knowing that remarkable results come from working together
