Are you looking for your first job or a second job with flexible hours? Join Hawks Prairie Veterinary Hospital as a part-time Kennel Staff member! This position is perfect for someone who loves animals and wants to gain experience in a pet-care environment. You'll be helping to ensure a clean and safe space for our furry guests while interacting with pets and their owners during our evening/closing shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care for and supervise animals, including feeding, walking, and providing companionship.
- Clean and sanitize animal areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Assist with animal check-ins and check-outs.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners.
- Lift and manage supplies, equipment, and pets as needed (must be able to easily lift up to 50 pounds).
- Ensure the kennel is ready for closing at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be able to easily lift up to 50 pounds.
- No prior experience required – ideal for someone looking for their first job or a second job.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to handle and care for animals.
- Flexibility in shift hours – the closing shift is typically from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, but may change based on business needs.
- Reliable, punctual, and passionate about animal welfare.
