Here at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, we are looking for a versatile, experienced veterinary assistant. This position is vital in assisting treatments and surgeries, helping pet parents navigate appointments, and working together with the rest of our team to ensure every pet gets the best care possible. We are a hard-working team that values excellent communication, and we are in need of an adaptable, people person, who also shares our commitment to our community. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing:  
As a veterinary assistant, you will be a vital member of the team helping our clinical and administrative team. Most days would consist of you assisting in a variety of treatments, rooming patients, administering medications, housekeeping, and restraining patients with kindness and care. One of our core values is collaboration and teamwork, and this job also entails helping clients schedule appointments, finding answers to their questions, and maintaining effective communication. You would be working side-by-side with almost every member of our team and collaborating with our front desk staff, technicians, and veterinarians. We need someone who has extraordinary attention to detail, excellent client service, and is a team player. 

  

What We’re Looking For:  
We are looking for a veterinary assistant with at least one year of General Practice experience; however, if you have one year of experience in other aspects of the veterinary field as an assistant, we encourage you to apply. The most important aspects of this job are your ability to communicate effectively, pay attention to details, and work productively as part of a team. The ability to handle and lift animals, stand and sit for long periods of time, and perform repetitive tasks is vital to the role.
