Who we are

We are a very busy, fast-paced small animal hospital that has an immediate opening for a part-time receptionist. Receptionists are the first and last contact a client has with our hospital and are they key to creating a lasting impression. Applicant must be friendly and outgoing, well-spoken, have a professional appearance, have the ability to deal with stressful situations, ability to multi-task, and be efficient using a computer and multi-line phone system. Hours would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:30p.m and 8:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. every other Saturday. Every other Saturday will be required.

Job Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Greeting clients in a timely manner and be compassionate and attentive to both client and patient.
  • Answering multi-line phone system
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Taking clinical history
  • Answering client questions about foods, medications, products, and procedures.
  • Processing payments
  • Record accurate communications in patient chart with appropriate grammar
  • Review and discuss medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients
  • Cleaning and maintenance of front office

Special Work Conditions:

  • You must be able to endure sitting, standing, walking for extended periods of time.
  • You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • You must be confident around pets
  • You must be able to work in a noisy environment with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
  • Must understand that patient needs and work volume may result in more than scheduled hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
